About Us

Colorado Community College System, the largest and fastest growing college system in Colorado, encompasses 13 comprehensive, two-year, state-supported community colleges.

The Colorado Community College System is governed by a nine-member State Board for Community Colleges and Occupational Education (SBCCOE). The Board is unique in the nation, with responsibility for both secondary and post-secondary career and technical education and community college governance. Members are appointed by the Governor and confirmed by the State Senate for staggered four-year terms. One community college faculty member and one student representative serve in non-voting capacities for one year each. We are committed to providing educational opportunities for all who can benefit regardless of race, creed, or ethnic background.

Our students are recent high school graduates intending to earn technical certificates or Associate of Applied Science degrees for career. They are young adults intending to earn associate degrees and transfer to four-year schools. They are adult learners with career changes in mind. They are students of all ages pursuing their special interests. And they are the employees of business and industry, learning new skills.

Our students can take advantage of more than one hundred degree, occupational and technical programs, and they can choose from a full complement of transfer courses (not all programs available at all colleges).
